Historical Disclosure

Historical Disclosure is a disclosure or allegation, by an Adult, of abuse which happened when they were children. For example:

  • Adults to whom we have a professional duty of care, (e.g. contacts made in family work);
  • Adults whom we encounter through our work, e.g. colleagues or other professionals;
  • Adult ex-residents or clients of abuse whilst they were in the care of someone else or whilst they were in the care of Childhood First.

For more information, see: Child Protection Procedures, Appendix 1: Historical Disclosures.
